Rimmel Apocalips , a YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain dupe?

Finally, the Rimmel Apocalips is released in UK stores. This product is something I have wanted to try as soon as I heard about it and after it being released last week I could not help but go to my local Boots and purchase a colour.

Thoughts on the product:

The packaging is not anything extraordinary, which is what is to be expected from a high street brand like Rimmel.

The pigmentation this lip product offers is honestly incredible. However, is this comparable to the YSL glossy stain.. no. I own the YSL glossy stain and I can confidently say that this is not a dupe; at best the Rimmel Apocalips is an incredibly pigmented lip gloss.  The YSL glossy stain has a more tacky feel to it and lasts a lot longer than the Rimmel Apocalips. Also, the YSL is quite sheer upon one application; you need to apply about two coats to get a deeper colour to the lips.

So, pigmentation is great, packaging is standard however the main down for me is the smell, this product has a really artificial scent and not the artificial that one would associate with flowers or something sweet smelling. This in fact has a really odd scent to it which is not to pleasant.

I believe this product comes in 8 shades, I chose celestial as I think this is a great day to night colour. This product retails at £5.99. Do I recommend it? Yes, if you are looking for a super pigmented lip gloss that is not sticky then this is the one for you and at £5.99 it will not break the bank. Revlon have a 3 for 2 at Boots at the moment which is where I purchased mine.

So what are your thoughts? Have you surrendered to the hype and purchased this product also?

Cold Weather Beauty, Skincare and accessories must haves!

So when the weather is freezing cold there are some definite essentials that every women should have and use during this period.

My top Winter Essentials
1) THERMAL SOCKS. I kid you not, these are an amazing purchase and a definite must have. They are great to wear under boots and wellies even trainers as they keep your tootsies nice and toasty.

2) Ear muffs and a warm hat. Ear muffs, well the reason these are a must have is simply because they keep your ears nice and warm.  In my own opinion ear muffs can look quit fashionable, you may beg to differ. Hats are great as they add a different element to your look and accessorising in the winter is always fun and in addition your kept nice and warm.

3) A good lip scrub and a moisturising lip balm. Cold weather = chapped dry lips. Keep your lips hydrated by using a moisturising and quenching lip balm. The one I am using at the moment is the Elemis loving lips quenching lip balm. Exfoliating your lips will get rid of any dead skin then simply apply a lip balm to lock in the moisture.

4 La Roche Posey Cicaplast baume B5 Soothing repair balm. This is a great product to carry around with you on the go as it is multipurpose. (Expect a review on this in the next few days) This can be used on your lips and body for an array of skin issues. It absorbs easily in the skin and has a very mild scent. It also is a grand 100ml!

5) Hand cream. Cold weather generally means that your skin tends to be a little dryer than normal. This hand cream by Korres is amazing as not only is it really absorbing and moisturising it also has an SPF. This is actually something I have found to be quite rare in hand creams, the generic hand creams you tend to find in boots and other pharmaceuticals do not offer any SPF so this product definitely gets a thumbs up from me.

What are your cold winter saviours? What are the products that have been getting you through the cold? Let me know.

Philosophy Be Your Best BB Cream

Hello all,

Firstly : It is important to share with you my skin type. I have combination skin, my skin is dry in some areas and more prone oil in others. Please bare that in my mind when I review products as some items may work well for my skin type but may not work so well for you.

I was so excited to try this BB cream because not only do I love Philosophy I also love tinted moisturises/ bb creams as  they generally offer  more of a sheer coverage and tend to leave a nice glow to your skin.

It comes in 2 shades, medium and light. I have the shade medium

Coverage: Medium coverage but is buildable.

This BB cream offers a medium coverage and leaves your skin looking dewey but not oily.
My skin tends to get quit oily around my T-zone however this BB cream did not contribute to more oil in this area. The consistency of the cream is quit light making it very blend able and easy to work with.

The packaging is really minimal which I like  and comes with a pump dispenser making it easy to extract the product.

Overall rating: 8.5/10

The only downside to this product would have to be the colour range. The medium is quit dark, like an NC35 in mac however the finish and longevity of the product is amazing. If the colour matches your skin type then I definitely recommend trying this product.  It is really nice to see Philosophy branching out into cosmetic type products.

What your thoughts about BB creams? Are you interested in trying this product?? Let me know if you do end up purchasing this and what you think about it. Also if you have any BB creams you would recommend then please leave me a comment I would love to read your suggestions.
