Beautiful Hong Kong

Hong Kong Peak - The highest peak in Hong Kong

The Floral kimono

These photos were taken about a week ago when the weather here in London was still very hot. Since then we have seen the weather change and the cold and rain has now graced us with it's presence.

On to the outfit...My favourite piece in this look is the floral kimono, it is such a fun bright piece that you can style in so many different ways. It would look great with a plain dress to add some colour or you could team it with a pair of jeans and a plain tee or you could clash prints and wear a patterned blouse with it. Whenever I purchase anything I always think of different ways I can wear it so when I saw this I not only fell in love with the print and style but also with the fact it is very versatile.

New Revlon Colorburst Lipbutters

When I heard that Revlon released two new shades I made a point of picking them up on my next visit to Boots. The new shades are Provocative and Invite only. Both of these shades are very sheer and leave a nice glossy sparkly look to the lips.  They have the same sticky feeling on the lips as the other lip butters but as mentioned these are not pigmented. The green shade in Invite Only reminds me of a Yves Saint Laurent limited edition lip balm that came out this Summer I believe. I personally really like these as just a fun lip balm to throw in your bag and an additional plus is the glittery packaging. Let me know what you think of these?

A mini Flash back at past outfit posts

As the cold months are soon upon us I thought I would post a few pictures from previous blog posts featuring AW looks. I just love a beanie during the Fall as well as a good pair of
boots.  What is your Autumn/Winter must have?

They just simply are a must have. I thought I would just share with you a few inspirational photos featuring a mirrored shade.

Having watched Gossip Girl (and sometimes re watching old episodes) I always loved the styling choices the characters wore, in particular Blake Lively. I do not have many celebrity style crushes but Blake (might as well call her by her first name, we go way back) is definitely one of them. I love how she mixes classic pieces with a contemporary modern accessory and is certainly not afraid to wear bold colours and accessorise, did I mention she loves a sequin number (BIG fan of sequins)

Anyway this post is dedicated to some of my favourite looks of hers as of late, let me know what you think? Are you also a style fan of hers?

The Colour Pop Perfect Bold Lip

When the weather heats up I just love wearing a bold coral or pink lip. This ETUDE House lipstick is the perfect shade for those Summery hot days. This lipstick is best described as a creamy pigmented lipstick. The colour is a blue toned pinkish red. I absolutely love everything about this lip colour and the formulation, lets just hope this nice weather sticks around long enough for me to get some good use out of it ( not to say that there is anything wrong with wearing this lip shade any other time of the year).

Lipstick love in the form of Revlon Rich Girl Red

I have never tried the Revlon Super Lustrous Shine formula before so when I saw this,  'new' , lipstick formula I thought I would pick one up to see what it was like. I am really pleased I did as this  is leaves a light glossy finish to the lips. This shade is quite pigmented and gives a nice tint to the lips. I have not tried any of the other shades but I would definitely be keen to pick one up in another colour. Have any of you tried this formula from Revlon? Thoughts?!?

The Aurelia Probiotic Miracle Cleanser

I have always been a fan of cleansing balms/creams so when I first saw this cleanser in a magazine I knew I just had to try it. I loved the packaging and I was drawn into finding out more about the brand and the product. I visited the website and I instantly fell in love with the brands concept behind there skincare range, www.aureliaskincare.com

After having used this product for the past 2 months I can honestly say it is my favourite cleanser that I own. This cleanser is a creamy formulation and includes lovely hints of eucalyptus and rosemary.  It instantly leaves your skin feeling hydrated and dewy. It also has a really calming affect on the skin.

How I use this product:

I tend to use this cleanser in the evening, this is just a personal preference.  I apply the product on dry skin and rub the cream gently into the skin. I then damp the bamboo muslin cloth (which it comes with) in luke warm water and buff the cream in with the cloth in circular motions. The  bamboo muslin cloth removes dead cells from your skin which leaves the skin with a gorgeous glow. I then gently dry my face with a flannel and I am all cleansed and ready to moisturise my skin.

New Maybelline 24hr Color Tatoo Shades in Metallic Pomegranite & Everlasting Navy

I have loved the colour tattoo cream eyeshadows since they were first launched here in the UK. However, some of the recent shades they have launched just have not been for me. When I popped into my local Superdrug this week and saw these 2 new shades, Metallic Pomegranate and Everlasting Navy, I didn't even think I just bought.

These 2 shades are gorgeous, I love the bronzeness of the 'Metalic Pomegranate' shade and the gold flex in it look really nice on the lid.

'Everlasting Navy' is an equally gorgeous colour and one that would suit all eye colours.

The great thing about these cream eyeshadows is that you have the option to either wear them as a light wash over the lids or build them up to a deep colour. They are also really good as a base before applying a powder eyeshadow and for £5 you can not really go wrong.

Overall I am really impressed with the Maybelline 24hr Colour tattoos and I highly recommend these shades, they would suit all eye colours! Superdrug has a 3 for 2 across all makeup in store so if you are thinking of buying them then now would be a good time. Let me know if you have tried these 2 new shades and what you think.

The Holiday Edit AKA The Summer Checklist

The Holiday Summer Edit

The Check List

1 Sunglasses - Rayban Wayfarers are my all time favourite sunglasses. You can see them in this post here

2 SPF - Face and body. SPF is really important regardless whether you are on holiday or not. I always wear SPF on my face, on top of my moisturiser. This Clarins SPF here is my favorite City spf

3 A day to night bag. I particularly like the Kurt Geiger one, here

4 Fun coloured bikinis (I love this one here and this Topshop one here)

5 Bright nail polish - I love wearing bold colours on my nails in the Summer and they look great when I have a little tan

6 A sun hat - to be honest this is not a necessity but they do look great.

7 Bronzer - Personally I love a bronzer with a bit of sparkle in the summer, this Guerlain one is gorgeous

8 Bold Lip colours, this one is gorgeous here.

9 A great pair of heeled sandals. (These here are definitely on my wishlist and these here)

The Office Beauty Edit

While I am at work there are a few essentials that live on my desk, these include: Burt’s bees hand cream, (thick consistency so it is really good for very dry hands), Korres hand cream ( a lighter formulation to the Burt’s Bees), Sally Hanson cuticle treatment, Smith's Rosebud salve, Super Coconut lip balm and Diptyque Oyedo fragrance (This smells like oranges)What are your at work essentials?

Vintage Floral Love

This dress is probably one of my favourite vintage pieces I own. I love the print, the length and the fact it can be worn open as a gilet/jacket as well as buttoned up as a dress. What is your favourite vintage piece of clothing? I teamed this dress up with my comfiest printed heels by Caroline Issa by LK Bennett. By pure coincidence the print of the dress and heels is pretty much identical. I teamed the look with a cute acrylic orange clutch from asos.

Harley Davidson meets the Neon Biker Coat

I have been a little absent from posting lately, I just never seem to have enough time. I am going to try and post more frequently now. This is a truly British introduction to Spring, it is still chilly and we still have Autumn leaves. Sping is my favourite season as it normally means you do not need to layer up as you do during Winter but you still need to wear a light coat. I am not crazy about the Winter as I do not like the cold and in the Summer, if it is really hot you just can not accessorise (blazer, gilet etc) so Spring is the perfect in between.  Which season do you like the most for styling?

Add a pop of neon to your wardrobe

Neon, every other season it appears in every form, in clothing and accessories. I have to admit I do like neon accents as I  love adding a pop of colour to an outfit. The neon items I have in my closet include a Topshop neon pink knitted jumper, neon yellow socks (which to be honest I have as of yet to wear) and a neon satchel. I preffer wearing the neon pieces I own with neutral colours like nude and cream as appose to a completely apposing colour like black. Below I have listed some of my favourtie neon pieces that are in stores at the moment. What neon items do you have and how to do you style them?

Estee Lauder Pretty Naughty Tease Gelee Blush

As soon as I saw this highlighter from the Pretty Naughty collection I just had to get it. In general I am a big fan of Estee Lauder products from there concealer to lipsticks and blushers. The packaging is really luxurious and the products do not disappoint. The same applied to this highlighter, the packaging is beautiful, the shade and the pigmentation are all incredible.

This highlighter gives a really natural glow/highlight to the cheekbones and below the brow bone (where I like to place my highlighter). The pigmentation is great, you need to apply the smallest amount to get colour pay off and the intensity of the shade is buildable. This highlight has slowly but surely become my favourite highlighter I own.  I normally go for quite a vivid gold based highlight, were as this is more of a pink tone highlight. I did not think a pink illuminating highlight would suit me but I am happy to say it does. Has anyone else purchased or tried the Pretty Naughty highlight in tease? If so what do you think??

The Sporty Flamingo

Sometimes a girl just wants to be comfortable, that means no heels, comfy trousers and a slouchy jumper. In all honest I feel my most comfortable when I am dressed down as in this outfit. What are your favourite comfortable pieces you own?

This jumper really reminds me of the Kenzo style jumper that has been plastered on almost every other blog and social media site. I do love the style of the Kenzo jumper but I really do not see the point in paying so much for a casual style jumper. I prefer to save up for more classic pieces that I know I will get a lot of use out of. Don't  you feel the same?

Holographic Accessories .. feel the love

This is a trend I have love, it is edgy, unique and conspicuous. From Stella Mccartney to the highstreet, it is evident that holographic accessories are a must. A holographic accessory is definitely holding strong on my wishlist for this season. I do not always follow particular trends but sometimes you just can not help but be drawn in. This trend, I am proud to say, I have fallen into the hype with  arms wide open.  A simple look can look really put together with the perfect accessories.
Stella McCartney's holographic accessories this season are the perfect balance were edgy meets glamorous. The falabella holographic clutch is my favorite. What are your thought on this trend? Have you too given in to the hype?

I believe in Pink.....

Pink defines utter femininity whether it be fuchsia fluro pink or a soft pastel shade.  I always remember being asked at school 'What is your favourite colour?', if you were a  girl your favourite colour had to be pink and if it wasn't you were oddly fround upon. I would not say it was always my favourite colour, nor is it now, however I do have a childhood kind of fondness towards it.

Excuse the ramble, this post is dedicated to all things pink so do braise yourselves. If you are not a fan of any shade of pink I suggest you look away now.. and if you are a fan well welcome to a post dedicated to all things pink x

Trend Alert!! Monochrome Black and White Spring 2013!

The monochrome trend is one we see emerging almost every other season and rightly so. The monochrome look is edgy yet wearable. This is a big trend emerging this Spring/Summer.
I also love the adrogonous style monochrome pants I have seen on the high street. What do you guys think of this trend? Do the catwalks proove everything looks better in black and white?

Street Style Inspiration

Hey all,

Happy Friday!!! I am going to be creating top 5 tips every few weeks. This weeks top 5 tips is all to do with lipstick. I thought this may  be a helpful post as in the past I have had disasters when it comes to lipstick and I figured these tips/rules are actually really helpful. Let me know if you already apply your lipstick in this way?

This is an important step if your lips are dry and chapped. By exfoliating your lips you get rid of any dead skin and leaves a smooth plumpness to the lips, a good base before applying lipstick.

Here are a few great exfoliators (You can also use a face exfoliator.. or if you are really creative you could always make your own lip exfoliator)

Once you have exfoliated your lips, apply a moisturising lip balm. This will help lock in the moisture and create a good base for your lipstick. When I apply my lipstick I normally wipe of any excess lipbalm with a tissue.

By lining your lips with a lipliner it prevents your lipstick from bleeding and also stains the lips. By lining the lips it allows your lipstick to last longer. It also defines your lipshape more and generally allows the application of lipstick to be a lot smoother. You can either line your lips with a lipliner similar to the colour of your natural lip or one that matches the colour lipstick you are applying.

Generally when we choose lip colours we go by our skintone but I have found this to be unaffective. I tend to choose a lipstick by my natural lip colour. By choosing a lipstick that suits your natural lipcolour you can find the nude lip or some people say 'your lips but better' shade.

The perfect nude should be.... slightly lighter or darker than your natural lip colour.. try it!!

The perfect brights:
Pale lips: cherry red or coral
Natural redish lips: try hot pink, orange, or cranberry
Dark lips: brick red and burgundy are ideal.

Once you have applied your lipstick, blot your lips with a tissue. This will stain the lips, then reapply another coat of lip colour.

I hope you find these simple tips as helpful as I do.
Let me know what your top tips are for applying lipstick.

Current Beauty Cosmetic wishlist

I have compiled a list of products I am lusting after and I thought I would share them with you. This wish list includes both cosmetics and skincare. What is on your wishlist this month? How beautiful is the DIOR lipstick?

L'oreal Paris GlamShine Stain Splash Full UK review

When I first saw these products released in the USA a few weeks ago I was instantly excited and curious to try them out. These lip gloss stains come in 12 shades from nudes and paley pinks to fuschia and dark plum. They currantly retain in the US for $8 or $9 dollers which is the kind of price I expected.

Now you may be wondering why I was so excited to try these and I will tell you exactly why. One reason I simply could not wait to try these is because YSL (with the infamous glossy stain lip tints) are owned by L'oreal and I am a big fan of both YSL cosmetics and the beautiful YSL Rouge pur couture glossy stains.

As I mentioned, being a fan of the YSL rouge glossy stains naturally I could not help but compare the L'real color caresse lip stains... I will however focus on reviewing the product individually and do a full comparison in another blog post.

The packaging (in my opinion) is gorgeous. They look very high end and I love the fact you can actually see the colour of the gloss just below the rim of the cap.

Beautiful and varied colour range (12 shades/ 6 in thr UK)

Pigemented?  Upon one application these lip tints feel very watery however the colour is buildable and I suggest applying at least 2 to 3 coats of colour to the lips.

They have a slightly tacky feel on the lips which does not bother me and all lip tints I have tried tend to feel like this on the lips.

Very long lasting.  They leave a gorgeous stain to the lips that is very long lasting.

Leaves a glossy finish to the lips.

Slightly scented ( A very similar, if not the same scent as the YSL rouge glossy stains)

RRP £7.99

Overall I am really impressed with these lip tints,  from the luxurious packaging to the actual longevity of the lip product itself and lets not forget the price.  Do let me know what you think of these should you try them?

Out now in the UK!
